ROMANY VONARX

Romany joined The Walking Clinic team as a graduate from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours).  She was initially drawn to podiatry by the depth and variety of the profession. Romany provides high quality, holistic care with attention to detail across the complete scope of podiatry including general care, diabetes management, biomechanical assessment, orthotic prescription, surgical management of ingrowing toenails, and the assessment and management of children’s feet.

Romany graduated with Honours which included a thesis in biomechanics and she is always excited to share her knowledge and passion for foot function and conservative therapies including exercise programs, footwear and orthotic prescription.  She was lucky enough to be mentored under Richard Lee Senior for the first five years of her career and has gained excellent, in depth experience in biomechanics with athletes, children, the elderly and dancers.

Romany continues to improve and grow her knowledge in the scope of podiatry, and is currently studying towards Endorsement for scheduled medicines, which when completed will enable her to prescribe medications in her practice. She prides herself on remaining up to date with progressing technologies and medical interventions. Outside of work Romany spends time managing the chronic pain condition fibromyalgia, which has lead her to participating in lots of low impact exercise and an interest in adjunct therapies to manage chronic pain.  She enjoys walking her little dog, clinical pilates, dancing and swimming to keep moving, and loves to sing, knit and sew in her spare time.
