What do Sports podiatrists do?
Podiatrists specialise in management of all lower-limb concerns – this can include anything from a running or sports injury, to your toes, feet and knees.
What happens at a sports podiatry appointment?
Your podiatrist will discuss your concerns and formulate a history, then take you through a series of assessments. Podiatrists will assess your range of joint motion, functional assessments, walking and running gait (to assess your injury risk) and establish a treatment plan.
When (or why) should I see a sports podiatrist?
If you are suffering from an injury, running niggle, concerned about your gait, or want to improve your performance, then please book an appointment with our team!
Do I need a referral to see a sports podiatrist?
No, no referral is required.
Is sports podiatry covered by Medicare?
In certain cases, people are eligible for a team care arrangement from your GP. Please contact your GP to find out more.
What is the cost of seeing a sports podiatrist?
The cost of seeing a sports podiatrist is dependent on the services you require; this can be discussed with our team. If you have private health insurance for podiatry this can be claimed on the spot.
What is the difference between a physiotherapist and sport podiatrist?
As podiatrists, we focus on just the lower limb, we monitor the movement and gait patterns of walking and running to improve efficiency and performance. Our team work closely with physiotherapists to get the most out of your body.
