Fungal Laser

Overview

Fungal nail infections, or onychomycosis, are common conditions caused by fungi invading the nails. They often lead to thickened, brittle, discoloured, or deformed nails, typically affecting the toenails. Risk factors include prolonged moisture exposure, poor foot hygiene, weakened immunity, or systemic conditions like diabetes which can reduce immune response. The infection spreads slowly and can be often difficult to clear.

help you?

Treatment Options

Treatment options include topical antifungals, oral medications, or advanced technologies like laser therapy. Preventing fungal nail infections involves keeping feet clean and dry, wearing breathable footwear, and avoiding walking barefoot in communal areas. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to managing and resolving infections.

The ARC Fox Laser (Hot Laser)

At the Walking Clinic we have state of the art non-invasive treatment options, such as The ARC Fox Laser, a revolutionary device used to treat fungal nail infections (onychomycosis). Utilising advanced laser technology, it provides a non-invasive, drug-free solution for patients struggling with stubborn fungal infections that are often resistant to topical and oral antifungal treatments. The laser targets the fungal infection by emitting precise wavelengths of light energy that penetrate the nail, heating and destroying the fungus without damaging the surrounding skin or nail bed.

One of the key benefits of the ARC Fox Laser is its ability to deliver targeted treatment with minimal discomfort and no downtime. Sessions are undertaken within a normal consult, where general foot care is undertaken, including reducing bulk of the infected nail where required. Depending on the severity of the infection most patients require multiple treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The treatment is painless for most individuals, with a mild warming sensation being the most common feedback.

The ARC Fox Laser is highly effective because it addresses the root cause of fungal nail infections without the systemic side effects associated with oral medications. Additionally, it promotes healthy nail regrowth, helping patients achieve clearer, healthier nails over time. With its combination of safety, efficiency, and convenience, the ARC Fox Laser is becoming a preferred choice for both patients and practitioners seeking an innovative solution to nail fungus.

The Lunula Laser (Cold Laser)
Available at our Lyneham clinic

The Lunula Laser stimulates your immune system and blood flow to enable your nails to grow clear and healthy. The Lunula Laser, is a class 2 diode laser, using low-level laser light (wave length: 635nm & 405nm) to target onychomycosis (fungal nails), as well as thickened, traumatised nails.

The treatment works by dual laser therapy, using two laser beams, which work together to destroy fungus, stimulate blood flow, and activate the immune response to clear the infection. Increasing blood supply has also been established to aid healing of traumatised nails and increase clearance of infection.

The laser light passes through the nail without causing damage to it or the surrounding skin. Safe and effective, the Lunula Laser poses none of the risk and harmful side effect of anti-fungal medications.

Lunula is one of the most effective treatment available, it is TGA approved for treating fungal toenails, and has been tested in numerous clinic trials and helped many patients grow clear, healthy nails again.

Cold Laser causes no pain or discomfort and there is no risk of skin damage or burns.
