Our Team

Adelaide Deura | Senior Podiatrist | The Walking Clinic

Adelaide Deura

Hi, my name is Adelaide and I’m one of the podiatrists at The Walking Clinic. I’m currently working in our Manuka and Garran clinics.

History

I graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2013 and started working for ACT Health in their New Graduate program. Since then, I have worked in a variety of different settings including private practice, community health and the high-risk foot service in the ACT, NSW and QLD.  Working in different clinical settings over the years has meant I have gained a lot of experience and different skills in all aspects of podiatry. I have also had the privilege of working alongside some excellent podiatrist over the years and have learnt many different skills and techniques from them along the way.

Why podiatry

I first became interested in podiatry after suffering with ingrown toenails as a teenager. I thought it was an interesting profession and felt like it would be nice to have a career where I could help people and hopefully get them moving around in less pain.

I enjoy all aspects of podiatry but have a special interest in the Diabetic foot, including education, treatment, and prevention. I also enjoy managing ingrown toenails and helping resolve foot pain through footwear, exercises, and orthotic therapy.

Outside of work

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter. I love traveling to new places and experiencing new cultures and food. I like to keep active and enjoy going for walks, swimming, lifting weights and Pilates. I also enjoy baking and trying out new recipes.
