The Walking Clinic is a leading group of 7 podiatric clinics based across Canberra, ACT Australia,
This role is open to early career podiatrists and experienced podiatrists – offering either mentoring and support or professional career growth and leadership roles. We have an amazing team of more than 25 podiatrists, meaning you will be working with multiple podiatrists daily, so never working alone without support or a door to knock on. All our clinics offer 3 or more podiatry clinical rooms

We also offer a multidisciplinary approach – working with a podiatric surgeon, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and massage therapists. All with a reputation for excellence in patient outcomes and a strong focus on holistic, patient-centred care.
Each of the clinics are well equipped with cutting-edge technology – FOX & Lunula lasers, shockwave therapy, 3D pressure plates, Dartfish gait analysis, VALD strength testing, AI clinical notes, and more.

We offer
  • Dedicated Mentoring Program – Fortnightly structured mentoring sessions run by senior podiatrists, sports podiatrists and podiatric surgeons – covering all areas of podiatry. regular case conversations and always a door to knock on and ask a senior podiatrist for opinion and expertise.
  • Large variety of cases – We treat all types of patients, from sports biomechanics, custom prescription orthotics, paediatrics, ingrown toenail surgeries, conservative management, high risk foot management to general foot care – we can tailor your book to what you want to see!
  • Case Study Discussions – Learn collaboratively with your peers and get expert guidance on complex cases.
  • Daily Support – working with a large team with multiple podiatrists in clinic daily, bounce treatment plans and management of each other daily.
  • $1,000 annual CPD allowance and regular CPD events with expert guest speakers.
  • One-on-one guidance to help you build confidence and sharpen your clinical skills.
  • Growth pathways into senior/clinical lead roles – Offering career growth to help learn more about clinical operation and growth into a leader of a clinic. We offer this to all our podiatrists that look to move up into a management position
  • Support and autonomy pathways – Our philosophy in our clinic is to help podiatrists grow and succeed, we will help you grow into the area you want too, whether it’s diabetes, sports biomechanics, paediatrics, high-risk podiatry or general care, we have pathways to support you!
We currently have a vacancy for fulltime or parttime new graduate or experienced podiatrist to join our team in our Canberra clinic.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Providing comprehensive treatment plans to address the specific needs of each patient
  • Performing routine foot care procedures such as nail trimming, callus removal, and the fitting of orthotics
  • Educating patients on proper foot care and preventive measures to maintain foot health
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care
  • Maintaining detailed patient records and updating them in a timely manner
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and clinic policies

A Bachelor’s degree in Podiatry or an equivalent qualification New graduates to experienced podiatrists welcome International podiatry experience is accepted and recognised for this position Excellent clinical skills and a deep understanding of podiatric assessment and treatment methods Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and other healthcare providers A passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Proficiency in the use of electronic medical record systems Australian work authorisation is required for this position
Must be eligible to obtain or hold a current AHPRA registration
