Peter Bottrill opened Belconnen Podiatry Service in Macquarie before moving to the current location in The Belconnen Churches building on Benjamin Way in 1987. Peter and wife Claudia built a busy podiatric practice servicing the people of the expanding Belconnen region.
The Walking Clinic was founded by Richard Lee in June 1978 under the name ACT Podiatry Services. ACT Podiatry Services was the first fully operational Podiatry Centre in Canberra bringing a whole new dimension of Podiatric Care to the ACT and surrounds.
The Walking Clinic ventured to the South side of Canberra in a shared space alongside The Canberra Physio Clinic in 2015, Our podiatrist, Ricky was the first podiatrist to work in the Kingston region and was first on Kennedy Street.
The Walking Clinic and The Foot Clinic have been synonymous with excellence in foot care in the ACT and surrounds. The Foot Clinic was opened by Paul Fleet in Woden in 1990, he worked alongside his wife June as practice manager. Paul utilised his knowledge in biomechanics to build a practice centred around gait/biomechanics based practice. With similar practices and vision, The Foot Clinic and The Walking Clinic merged in 2017 and the dedicated team have continued to practice under The Walking Clinic banner. Paul Fleet retired in 2017 and the team has since expanded offering the latest technology in treatment options while retaining the vision and quality offered to the Southside of Canberra.
We are excited to announce we have merged with The Canberra Foot and Ankle Clinic to form The Walking Clinic Garran.
We are located on the 1st floor of The Garran Medical Centre at Garran shops.
